How to clean the ashes from a fire ?

I don't have a fireplace set and it seems to me easier to vacuum up the mess. But is this safe to do?
I have found some recommendations and want to share them:

  1. First make sure the fire is out.
  2. Scoop out as much as you can with a dust pan if you don't want to ruin your vacuum cleaner.
  3. Vacuum the rest ashes. After vacuuming the smell and odor will stay for months in your vacuum cleaner. So you need some really good micro filtration filter bags.
Well, from the first sight it looks really easier to vacuum up the ashes fro fireplace. But if you have vacuum over $ 700, I wouldn't recommend this method for you.

How to clean the inside of a toaster?

There are some tips how to clean the inside of your toaster:
  • You can shake it upside down and then get a large pipe cleaner and scrape off the excess.
  • Shake it upside down and then clean it with your vacuum cleaner. I have Kirby vacuum with a lot of very useful devices for cleaning tiny places.
  • Some toasters models have a crumb tray at the bottom. So you can remove it to wash with soap and brush ( use an old toothbrush ).

How to clean ovens

What do you need to clean your oven: ammonia, baking soda, white vinegar, glass pan, boiling water, sponge and steel wool.

First preheat your oven at 200 C. Take a shallow glass pan and fill it with approximately 1" of ammonia and place the glass pan on the top shelf of the oven. Take another glass pan ( be sure to use only glass pans), fill with 1" of boiling water and place it on the bottom shelf. Close the oven door and leave for at least two hours or overnight in case of the oven is heavily soiled. The next morning, prepare a paste with baking soda and white vinegar and rub the oven.

What do you need to make the oven cleaning paste: a little ammonia, baking soda, a little white vinegar, glass bowl, damp cloth and sponge.

First make a cleaning mixture. Then remove the glass pans of ammonia and water from the oven and clean the cooking shelfs. Rub the oven using the damp cloth. Using the damp sponge, activate the baking-soda paste and scrub the surface. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes, then wipe.

Some trick how to clean mocrovave.

Put a mug of water and microwave it for 2 minutes( it also helps to add a bit of lemon juice if you have it). Let it sit in the micro for 5-10 minutes, don't open the door! The steam from the boiling water will loosen all that hardened on gunk.
Here is another method of how to clean microvaves: Take a cleaning product specifically for microwaves that was a disposable cloth with cleanser on it, similar to Windex or 409. Heated the cloth in the microwave for 2 - 3 minutes. The steam from the rag softened the yucky stuff. Then wiped out what was left with the warm cloth.
