Tips for removing stains from carpets

Keeping my light color carpets ideally clean is a real challenge. While vacuuming often and removing shoes before entering to a carpeted room I'll save my carpets from usual wear and tear. But my family like to eat when they watching TV and childrens like to play their games and to eat sandwichs with chocolate or cookies at the same time in carpeted rooms. And they, of course, spoil drinks and leave food on my carpets. Spills mean stains and that can mean a ruined carpet. Before throwing out the carpet read my tips about how to remove stains from carpet.
The most important rule for cleaning any stain is to clean immediately. If not, you risk to loose your carpet forever. If you spill something on your carpet, take a dry cloth which absorbs liquid ( like bath towel) and put on the stain for blotting liquids. If you spoil something with solid matter clean it up first. Then blot at the stain until you've lifted as much of the stain as possible.(If a lot of liquid has been spilled, cover the area with a thick dry cloth and weigh down with books. Leave overnight and remove the stain as normal). Now you can dampen a cloth or sponge with cold water and blot very gently. Don't scrub the stain, this will only weaken the carpet fibers and cause the stain to spread. If there's still soiled after blotting with water, sprinkle a mild dish washing liquid on the stain and clean. Blot gently and leave it for about an hour or so. Blot again with a cool damp cloth until the stain is removed. Products that clean clothing will also clean the carpet. Try to remove the stain with a laundry stains remover. Leave it to soak overnight and blot with a damp sponge or cloth until the stain is removed. If the solution to your stain problem can't be found in your kitchen cabinets, you may need to buy an over-the-counter stain solution. These are pretty easy to use. In most cases, you spray it on and vacuum with vacuum cleaner. Or at last contact with professional stains removers or with carpet's manufacturers. They'll either share some stain removal tips or recommend a service call.

What wonderful tips on cleaning my carpet. Mine might be a lost cause. I do want to share a carpet cleaning success... My parents have a 100 year-old motor home and we were cleaning it yesterday to take camping and I recently obtained the Spot & Stain Remover from HomePro by Design. I couldn't wait to test the spotter on the dirtiest carpet I have ever seen (sorry mom). It worked AWESOME. My mom said, and I quote, "I never knew the true color of this carpet". The spot which I ...can only imagine was grease, dirt and sand, came out in a flash! I am sold on the spotter! Just thought I would share. Thanks for a fun blog.
