How to clean ovens

What do you need to clean your oven: ammonia, baking soda, white vinegar, glass pan, boiling water, sponge and steel wool.

First preheat your oven at 200 C. Take a shallow glass pan and fill it with approximately 1" of ammonia and place the glass pan on the top shelf of the oven. Take another glass pan ( be sure to use only glass pans), fill with 1" of boiling water and place it on the bottom shelf. Close the oven door and leave for at least two hours or overnight in case of the oven is heavily soiled. The next morning, prepare a paste with baking soda and white vinegar and rub the oven.

What do you need to make the oven cleaning paste: a little ammonia, baking soda, a little white vinegar, glass bowl, damp cloth and sponge.

First make a cleaning mixture. Then remove the glass pans of ammonia and water from the oven and clean the cooking shelfs. Rub the oven using the damp cloth. Using the damp sponge, activate the baking-soda paste and scrub the surface. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes, then wipe.

I would agree in the main to cleaning most things around the house and I admire those who do give it a go. However, there is something quite nice about getting in the pros for a spot of Oven Cleaning!

I like the idea of making the paste, but ammonia scares me!
